n! biomachines (formerly The Cultivated B Canada) is a highly innovative and science-driven biotechnology and bioengineering company from Germany, focusing on developing and manufacturing high-precision systems for cellular agriculture and pharmaceutical industry.


Our facility in Burlington, ON, is focused on the development and production of bioreactors and advanced machinery for cellular agriculture and precision fermentation. Our integrated Research and Development center within the same facility is an Ontario hub for innovation in bioprocess design and optimization, plant-based engineering, food technology and scaled alternative protein production.


• Develop, implement and maintain systems that establish a healthy and safe work environment

• Assess the level of Health and Safety compliance with legislation, internal procedures, and the OHSA and Regulation requirements by regular walk-throughs, inspections, testing, documentation checking etc. and follow up where deviations are found

• Provide advice, information or recommendations to managers, supervisors and employees concerning health and safety matters, including legislation, and following up where appropriate

• Create new programs and approaches to ensure compliance with legislation and company health and safety policies.

• Co-ordinate and participate in audit activities to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Identify Health and Safety training needs, develop training programs and conduct training. This includes identifying outside contractors to conduct training where applicable

• Attend and participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings, such as but not limited to inspections, meetings, and preparation of minutes as required

• Develop and maintain systems to effectively analyze injuries and plant safety performance

• Lead investigations of incidents and accidents as required

• Specify personal protective equipment, guarding etc., as required.

• Create, maintain and analyze tables, charts and graphs to identify trends and focus safety efforts to reduce claims.

• In conjunction with Human Resources, provide internal support for Workers’ Compensation cases

• Review incidents to ensure Root Cause Analysis is completed to prevent reoccurrences and drive corrective actions through health checks

• Conduct new hire safety on-boarding for new employees

• Maintain metrics in accordance with company requirements

Job requirements

• Completion of post-secondary education in the field of Occupational Health and Safety or a Bachelor’s degree

• Working towards CRSP certification preferred

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience

• Ability to coach and influence health and safety expectations of daily business operations.

• Thorough knowledge of the OHSA and Regulations

• Awareness of external trends in occupational health and safety

• Excellent communication skills both written and oral

• Effective computer skills, specifically Excel and word

• Work well with limited supervision

• Certified in First Aid and CPR is an asset
